Time Trial #25 Results
Time Trial # 25 was held on June 25th at the Town of Tonawanda Aquatic and Fitness Center. We hosted our 2nd Long Course swimming opportunity and were happy to have BAAC in attendance for some great competition. With 114 swimmers in attendance, 62 of them Titans, we saw some great swims and some impressive time drops from the last Long Course meet we were able to do.
Level 2 had just 2 swimmers join in the Long course fun this past Friday, with Anna and Michael. Although a bit intimidated by seeing the pool, they both swam great! Hopefully they and the rest of level 2 will have the chance to swim Long course in July!
Both levels 3 and 5 were challenged this meet with competing in long course, but we had some great swims!Level 3 only had 5 swimmers at this meet, Nora Bronson, Vivienne Cabin, Brigid Connors, Kaitlyn Forpahl, and Khalil Voelker. This small group of girls continues to push themselves as well as their fellow team members. For many of the girls, this was their first time swimming these events in long course!
Level 4 only had 3 swimmers in attendance but they were amazing! Lucas Castelo Barnum had an impressive 1 and done race in his 100Meter Free. Lucia Santiago swam 3 personal bests, achieving a NI Gold cut time in the 100 Meter Free. Mia Zablocki continues to push herself, braving the 200IM and 100 Fly in Long Course Meters! Fantastic effort all three swimmers!
Level 5 had 11 swimmers with 19 best times! Each of our swimmers stepped up to the blocks and pushed through their races. The coaches were very pleased to see the great finishes that we have been practicing.
Level 6 had 9 impressive swimmers in attendance at this one!We were truly impressed with some of the amazing underwater swimming that was on display. The effort Level 6 has put into developing their “5th stroke”is showing! 21 personal best times, 10 Niagara District Gold cuts, 5 new events, and zero DQ’s! Anne Boscarino, Kerrington Clouser, Grace Griffin,Emmett King, Heather Malkiewicz, Casey Reed, Meredith Roberts, Josephine Russom,and Arianna Sidor all had amazing swims and are doing a fantastic job working on all those little things we need to keep improving! Nice efforts Level 6!
Level 7-8 had a great night as we continued to drop a tremendous amount of time even though we have been doing a lot of dryland and we began double a month ago. The swimmer are taking to the training and the extra time. As coaches we like to see that the effort is increasing and the awareness of the level of training that is needed to succeed. Those that had big drops include Tom Baxter, Juliet Bewlay, Ally Chaplin, Vincent Ciraola, Brady Garcia, Leah Gardiner, Harrison Roberts, Maddy Scibetta, Brad Smith, Kristiana Clouser, Matren Drews, Haley Griffin, Lauren Levy, Claire Malkiewicz, Chloe Marcyan, Alaina Roberts and Bailey Wiegand.
Also shot out the the 1500 swimmers who all did that event for the first time!
