Titan Time Trial #26 & BAAC Summer LC Classic Meet Results
The Titans had a busy weekend July 9th and 10th! We had two opportunities to swim right here in Western New York. We sent 21 Swimmers to BAAC’s Summer LC Classic and we hosted our 26th time trial in Short Course yards, with 66 Titans in attendance. Thanks again to all who helped and participated in the events.
Friday was the busy day! Nine Titans swam at the University of Buffalo’s Alumni Arena pool in Long Course. While 66 Titans were swimming fast in Short course at our home pool the Town of Tonawanda Aquatic Center. Lucas Castelo Barnum, Vinnie Ciraolo, Emma Cwiklinski, Katlyn Forphal, Kia Heelan, Lucy Lyons, Campbell Murphy, Harrison Roberts, and Meredith Roberts were in it for the long haul as Friday night’ session was just over 4 hours on deck. This used to be the normal day at a meet and it was good to have time to warm up and cool down between swims! Great efforts by all in attendance in events from the 50 free to the 200’s breast and back!
In the 12&U session of the BAAC meet we had 7 swimmers, Ryan Bronson, Lucy Nudell, Kaitlyn Forpahl, Kaia Heelan, Megan Hufnagel, Elizabeth Homish, and Tess Michalowski. Each and everyone of these swimmers brought positive attitudes and lots of energy. Many of these swimmers came into this long course meet and swam events they have never swam before. It was very exciting to see the kids having fun and cheering for one another. Each of these swimmers deserved to be highlighted for an amazing meet, the coaches were incredibly proud to see the work they put in at practice shining through in their races.
Sat afternoon the the 13 and overs came to UB ready to race. Nearly every swim was a person best time. Haley Griffin 2 personal Best, Maya Marcyan 3, Emma Cwiklinski 3, Vinnie Ciraolo 1, Brady Garcia 2, Jackson James 1, Lucy Lyons 5, Campbell Murphy 3, Harrison Roberst 2. We are loking forward to the STAR meet then getting into our taper meets to finish out the season.
At the Same time Friday night 66 of our own swimmers swimming at the AFC. Levels 1 and 2 sent 10 Swimmers to our 26th time trial of the season! Derek Hufnagel, Charlotte Johnson, Khloe Kibby, Abigale Krempa, Audrey Nudell, Anna Masse, Charlotte Nudell, Lannen Pawelek, Michael Scibetta, and Harper Shovlin all swam amazing. Many new events were attempted by our young Titans and we all have some great swims to be proud of and a few disqualifications to continue to work on.
Level 3 & 4 sent 9 swimmers to the meet! They combined for 15 new best times and zero DQ’s! Amazing! Congratulations to Bianca Alderson, Nora Bronson, Vivienne Cabin, Maximus Carter, Bianca Gomes, Natalie Lever, James Lyons, Josie Lyon, and Khalil Voelker!
Levels 5 & 6 sent 28 Swimmers to the meet. They have been putting in great work on the “little things” and we are beginning to see WAY better starts, turns, finishes, and racing! Ryan Bronson, Julia Cabin, Andre Charlier, Celia Crawford, Carter Gavigan, Emma Gilbert, Victor Gilber, Grace Griffin, Elizabeth Homish, Megan Hufnagel , Emmett King, Isaac King, Sean Labiak, Reese Marcyan, Tessa Michalowsk, Gavin Miller, Erin Morrissey, Lucy Nudel, Nathan Reimann, Ava Riehler, Rowan Riley, Josephine Russom, Kimberly Schmitt, Owen Scibetta , Kylie Szaflarsk, Gavin Tranter, Delilah Winker, and Sydney Yost did fantastic piling up 41 personal bests, 10 new events, 13 Niagara Championship cut times, AND ZERO DQ’s!
Level 7-8 had 18 swimmers swimming at the AFC. We had some great swim espcially being in the heart of our training schedule. Brady Garcia, Ava Pauly, Atticus Hlubin, Lily Hauser Howells, Jackson James, Evan Schraufstetter, Harrison Sly, Kristiana Clouser, Haley Griffin, Parker Marshall and Bailey Wiegand all had personal best times. Again we are very much looking forward to taper and the final 2 meets of the season.
