50 Years, 50 Titans: Rebecca Anthone

Heather Scibetta

Let us introduce you to another Titans alumni, Rebecca Anthone.

Starting with Titans at a young age, Rebecca’s hard work in the pool help to define her as a strong and serious swimmer. She made the Varsity Swim Team at Clarence High School in 8th grade and continued to swim after graduation.  She attended Canisius College and swam for the school under Coach Scott.  Rebecca still lives locally working as a Public Relation firm based out of New York City.

Fun fact # 1: I met my best friend @jacquiesagasta on my first day of Titans practice in level 3 when I was 8 years old. We were paired together for a kickboard set and had to answer as many questions as possible to get to know each other. This was when I learned candy canes are her favorite candy. She and I have been best friends ever since – 17 years and counting.

We asked Rebecca the usual questions, here’s what she had to say:

Q: When did you first join Titans?

A: I joined level 3 on Titans when I was 8 years old

Q: What is your favorite memory about being a Titan?

A: There are so many great memories from all my years of Titans swimming - from unexpectedly winning the Golds Championship Swim Meet and celebrating at Friendly's with chicken tenders and chocolate milk to riding The Incredible Hulk roller coaster next to Coach Scott at Universal when we traveled to Florida for Junior Nationals – I have memories that will last a lifetime.

Q: What was the one event or stroke you dreaded swimming?

A: The mile, hands down.

Thanks for reading about Rebecca, stay tuned for another Titan alumni post!
