Scott Vanderzell

The Town of Tonawanda Titans hosted the Halloween Meet the weekend of October 29th to the 31st at the Aquatic and Fitness Center. We saw 9 Teams pulling together 300 plus swimmers throughout the weekend! It was amazing to see this again and a fantastic opportunity to compete against some amazing swimmers. We had a total of 103 Titans in attendance piling up best times, new swims, great relays, and some super team support! Thank you to all the volunteers who worked so hard all weekend to make it a safe and successful weekend. Thank you, to all of the Coaches who did their very best to prepare the swimmers for the meet and support them throughout. Finally, thanks to all the swimmers who put such great efforts all weekend!

Level 1 had a spooktacular meet with 6 swimmers that swam four best times and a lot of new swims! Congratulations to all swimmers that competed for their first time! We are all proud of you challenging yourselves and working hard during practice. Awesome job!

Level 2 had 8 swimmers and a total of 19 swims, and 8 of which were best times! We had a lot of swimmers trying out new events and showing the coaches what they can do; your hard work has shown in this meet! We love to see all swimmers challenging themselves and supporting one another.

Level 3 had 12 swimmers compete at this meet, and we had a total of 14 best times! Level 3 continues to show growth each week in their technique. We were also very excited to have a couple of the swimmers swimming in their very first meet. It was so nice to finally be back to a regular meet with multiple teams. All the kids were in high spirits and ready to swim for our halloween meet! The coaches were very pleased with each and every swimmer, making it a challenge to pick swimmers of the meet. Even through the amazing swims we recognized what we need to work on as a group and are ready to get back to work at practice.

Level 4 had a solid turnout for our first meet of the season. Thirteen scary fast Titans represented Level 4. Those swimmers dug up 41 new personal best times, 13 new events, 7 NI Championship cuts (Gold times), 3 CQ (Silver times), with only 2 Disqualifications to learn from. Fang-Tastic job Level 4!

Level 5 had 13 swimmers this weekend with a total of 30 best times! Level 5 has been working very hard each and every day. We have been challenging these swimmers with new and difficult sets. Their hard work shined through this meet. We can't wait to continue the season with them!

Level 6 had a shocking return to competition! Nineteen hauntingly dedicated swimmers piled up SEVENTY-SEVEN personal best times, 9 new events, 40 CQ (Silver times), 25 NI Championship cuts (Gold Times), without a single disqualification! This was an awesome start to the new season, Way to go Level 6!

Level 7-8 had nearly 90 persoanl best times over the course of the weekend. It was great to get meet in after nearly 8 weeks of training. Some of the High School girls were able to comeback and rejoin the group for this meet. Those that had nealy all personal best were Delilah Winker, Maddy Scibetta, Colin Tupis, Arie Sidor, Charlies Lorenz, Harrision Roberts, Kim Schmitt, Max Lesmeister, Saen Labiak, Tom Baxter, Brady Garcia, Jackson James, Atticus Hlubin, and Harrision Sly. I look forward to the rest of the season and watching the kids develope over the next couple months.
