Time Trial # 25 was held on June 25th at the Town of Tonawanda Aquatic and Fitness Center. We hosted our 2nd Long Course swimming opportunity and were happy to have BAAC in attendance for some great competition. With 114 swimmers in attendance, 62 of them Titans, we saw some great swims and some impressive time drops from the last Long Course meet we were able to do. Level 2 had just 2 swimmers join in the Long course fun this past Friday, with Anna and Michael. Although a bit...

Our night spotlight features a Titan who was a prominent KenTon swimmer throughout her youth and has taken her passion and what she learned growing up in the sport to Nevada where she is a current college professor: Lori Delaney (now Johnson) Lori joined the Titans team back in 1987, right around the time the Town of Tonawanda Swim Club merged with Western Empire State Titans and we officially became known at the Titans. She swam for Kenmore East from 1992 to 1998 and was Varsity all 6 years beginning...

Some Titan swimmers become a member of our family when they are still toddling around and end up swimming with us all the way through college. That is the case for our next spotlight swimmer: Leia Federiconi Leia started swimming at the ripe age of 3 at Transit Valley Country Club, coached by none other than the famous Scott Vanderzell. After a few years at Transit Valley she progressed to the Town of Tonawanda Titans. Leia went to Nardin Academy for High School and swam for the Gators all four...

On Sunday June 6th the 220+ members of the Titan swim club and their families along with our amazing coaching staff gathered virtually (hopefully for the last time) to recap the past year, celebrate the many successes of our team, and honor our 2021 Titan Seniors. Even though things were different in 2020/2021, there were still many accomplishments that were achieved because of the dedication of our coaches, the perseverance of our swimmers, and the support of our parents. We have been able to be back in the pool since...

Our team has a great history of extending our member’s swim careers by promoting them to become a coach once they have graduated. It exemplifies our motto – “Once a Titan, always a Titan”. Our next spotlight is fondly remembered as someone who was an amazing swimmer and then an equally amazing coach: Andrea Gomez. Andrea started swimming for the Sweet Home Swim Club when she was 6 years old. The team merged with the Lockport swim team to become the Western Empire State Titans or WEST. She has been...

The Titans played host to Amherst Swim Cub with Time trial #21 Friday May 15th. We had nearly 100 Titans in attendance swimming fast and having some fun in the AFC pool. For the first time since the pandemic, we ran RELAYS! It was amazing to see the team aspect of the sport again and we saw the benefit of returning to a kind of normalcy. We will be doing our best to continue to include as many Titans in the relays as we proceed through spring and summer meets!...

Our next spotlight is a former Titan that not only enjoyed a long swimming career, but also met some of the most important people in her life because of swimming: Samantha Wakefield. Back in 1995, Samantha McCarthy, now Samantha Wakefield, joined the Titans. Her long swim career started at the young age of 7 and continued throughout her college years. Sam could always be found in the pool, even though her high school didn’t have a swim team. She played high school soccer for Nichols but always kept up with...
