This past weekend the Titans took nearly 80 swimmers to the STAR wintrer challenge meet. We walked away with a ton of best times, some new Silver and Gold qualifiers. We are getting into championship season and the kids look ready to go! Stroke Development brought one swimmer, Jake Olson, who experienced his first meet at ECC! He swam two events and dropped six seconds in his 50 freestyle! Awesome job Jake! Level 1 had a small but mighty group of 5 swimmers that swam a total of 18 events! Mia...

We hosted the Titans Holiday Meet at the Town of Tonawanda Aquatic and Fitness Center Tuesday and Wednesday December 28th & 29th 2021. This was the last swimming opportunity in 2021 and proved to be a great opportunity to see our progress and focus on the things to improve moving ahead! We had a relatively small meet with only 6 teams in attendance, but the Titans came in force with 110 of the 179 athletes in attendance. Swimmers from ALL Levels Stroke Development through Level 8 did fantastic! Thanks to...

As 2021 comes to a close, we would like to thank all the alumni swimmers, coaches and families that shared their Titans stories and memories with us as we celebrated our 50th Anniversary. To wrap up our 50 Years, 50 Titans posts, we would like to share a letter from Gary Kokolus. Gary, along with his wife Anne and their four children, Katie, John, Julie and Kevin, were an extremely important and special part of the Titans family for many years. Hello current and past TTSC families, The Kokolus family...

On December 22, 2021 we were happy to bring back our Titans Elf on the Shelf Meet and spread some holiday cheer right before Christmas! We had a great turnout for Stroke Development, Level 1 and Level 2 and many swimmers participated in their first swim meet. We were able to see some fun new swims while also racing each other and seeing a lot of improvement! Our younger swimmers were able to catch a glimpse of what a swim meet is like and got to know some of our...

Time to walk down memory lane with Alex Dockstader, now Alex Schwob. Alex joined our Titans family at the very early age of 7 and never slowed down in the pool! She swam all 4 years at Kenmore West where about ¾ of the team was made up of other Titans, including her buddies Marissa and Lindsay Dressel. After graduating from high school, she attended Michigan State and swam with them for 1 year before transferring to SUNY Geneseo where she swam with them for 1 year. In 2011, Alex...

The Baxter family has given Titans four remarkable swimmers over the past decade. We recruited the help of the youngest family member, Thomas, to interview some his 2 brothers Luke and Sam. Luke Baxter Luke has always been a fierce competitor in the pool. He attended St. Joseph Collegiate Institute for high school and swam for the swim team all four years. After graduation, he went on to attend Canisius College where he swam during his freshmen year. After two years, Luke transferred to D’Youville and graduated with a Bachelor...

The team sent 29 swimmers to the Star Short Course Invitational held December 2nd through the 5th at ECC’s Flickinger Aquatic Center. This was the second “Championship” formatted meet this season and another opportunity to learn from the preliminary swims and apply it to finals! The Titans did fantastic against some of the best teams from all over the east coast. Swimmers from Levels 3 to Level 8 endured the ICY waters of ECC keeping warm with the efforts they put into their swims. There were two sessions of preliminary...

Our Titan team has been lucky enough to have a great history of coaches that just know how to capture the attention and passion for the sport in some of our littlest teammates. Not everyone has the patience to continuously remind swimmers how to squash the tomato or the best way to perfect their peanut butter and jelly stroke during a Balloon Meet. Lucky for us, our next spotlight happens to be one of them: Samantha Maiarana Coach Sam started coaching for Titans in 2009 and was the Stroke Development...

The Titans traveled to Ohio for the Mark J. Braun Fall Classic the weekend of November 19th, 20th & 21st. This was a “Cut Time” meet, meaning the swimmers had to achieve certain time standards to enter. All the swimmers who made the trip were able to participate in an extremely fast meet, seeing some truly amazing races, as well as putting in a bunch of our own. The meet played host to over 50 teams and well over 800 athletes, all swimming at a very high level. The Titans...

You’re not seeing double with this post, say hello to Lexi and Grace Fredricks! These Grand Island girls always loved the water and after swimming for St. Stephen’s in 8th grade, they joined the Titans Swim Club to further pursue their swimming goals. That seemed to spark their capabilities in the pool because while they attended Mount Saint Mary Academy and swam on their team, they broke school records, won races, earned All-Catholic medals and championships. You can still see their All-Catholic achievement posters hanging throughout MSM’s sports hallway. After...
